Oppo has launched ColorOS 14, which includes a smart system called Pantanal and a large language model named AndesGPT. These additions aim to improve the overall experience for Oppo mobile users.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has unveiled the latest version of its operating system, ColorOS 14, which boasts the advanced Pantanal cross-platform smart system and the cutting-edge AndesGPT, a proprietary large language model (LLM).
The Pantanal system is designed to enhance the user experience by offering a range of versatile services, including smart travel features like hotel reservations, recommendations, and guided tours in China, along with an international travel tool.
AndesGPT powers Oppo’s intelligent assistant, Breeno, which has undergone significant upgrades to handle over 400 frequently-used system settings and excel in AI content generation and schedule management.
Oppo has provided insights into the foundational elements of AndesGPT, focusing on three crucial technical characteristics: dialogue enhancement, personalization, and cloud-device collaboration. AndesGPT’s core capabilities span knowledge, memory, tools, and creative content creation. Pantanal, driven by generative AI technology, offers an advanced understanding of user intentions and context, enabling intelligent combinations of services for more intuitive user interactions.
Oppo expressed its commitment to the continuous refinement of the integration of software, hardware, and services, emphasizing collaboration with 320,000 developers and 750,000 creators. The synergy between Pantanal and AndesGPT is expected to deliver a more creative and imaginative experience for Oppo’s global user base.
In a parallel development, Samsung from South Korea introduced its in-house developed generative AI model called Samsung Gauss. Comprising Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image, this innovative system is currently enhancing employee productivity and is set to expand across various Samsung product applications, promising novel user experiences in the near future.
